the temperament test!

I am 73% choleric- 27% sanguine. Based on an online test.

Took the test twice, for validity-reliability's sake. Choleric daw talaga ko.

Explanation:

The Choleric / Sanguine

The choleric-sanguine is a blending of the two extroverted temperaments and will be somewhat less extraverted than the sanguine-choleric, because the choleric’s extraversion often takes a back-seat to his goal-oriented behavior. Nonetheless, this temperament combination is second only to the sanguine-choleric in terms of being outgoing and people-oriented. This temperament mix tends to give rise to an enthusiastic, motivational, and highly driven leader (choleric) whose social skills and interest in other people (sanguine nature) make him less dictatorial and capable of some flexibility.

He will value relationships more than a pure choleric, and will show greater compassion in dealing with people, will be less controlling than the pure choleric, and will be more willing to take time out to relax and enjoy himself.

If you are a choleric-sanguine, you will find that you have a great amount of energy and inspiration for initiating projects and can be highly focused on task completion as well. Although you tend to be very objective, pragmatic, and logical -- and may sometimes find yourself stepping on toes in the process of accomplishing the task at hand -- you will also have the interpersonal skills needed to resolve conflict and to help people work together and get along with one another. The creativity and sensitivity of your sanguine nature will enable you to be flexible when the situation calls for it, and less demanding and harsh than a pure choleric would tend to be. You are likely an energetic leader or manager, with superb debating skills: firmly convinced that you are right, you also have the “people-skills” necessary to convince others as well!

Without strong formation and a deep spiritual life, however, your temperament’s weaknesses will be intensified. Without attention to self-formation you may find yourself quickly aroused to anger, yet also unforgiving. You can be impatient with others and overly opinionated. You may speak frankly or impulsively without regard for others’ feelings. You should take care that you become neither a workaholic nor driven by your passions. You may insist on having your own way, and become angered, blame others, or make excuses when corrected. But, once you become aware of the weaknesses of your nature, and make a commitment to self-improvement, you will be able to be equally determined in pursuing self-formation.

Whew.
Pero true, Choleric +sanguine. I didn't expect to be melancholic naman.

some famous cholerics: Margaret Thatcher, Michael Jordan, Bill Gates

Strengths and natural virtues:
active, assertive, bold, brave, capable, compelling, confident, competitive, determined, decisive, driving, dynamic, effective, energetic, enterprising, focused, forceful, goal-oriented, independent, opinionated, passionate, persevering, positive, pragmatic, productive, purposeful, quick, resolute, self-motivated, sharp, strong-willed, vigorous, zealous

Weaknesses and natural vices:
aggressive, ambitious, angry, antagonistic, argumentative, bossy, combative, defiant, dismissive, domineering, harsh, impatient, intolerant, oppositional, prideful, pushy (negative term for competitive?haha), relentless, shrewd, stubborn, unempathic, unsympathetic

of PI 100 and perky groupmates

So my PI 100 is over.

Enjoyed the subject, really. I know Sir Ramos is a bit weird, and his comments are not-so-decent sometimes, but he knows a lot about Rizal. Buti na lang I got really patient groupmates who tolerate my late-ness (you know, the meeting is 9am and I arrive at 10:30 or our meeting is 5.30 and I will be in the meeting place at 6pm.haha.) And they are really perky, too. As in.

There's Jaja, the super sipag researcher of our group, the Sige-libre-ko-kayo AA girl who loves to smile (who had a burnt turquoise nail polish by the way)who is always being annoyed by our other groupmate Mario (aka SE-SC chair). Mario always surf the net about MTV or Britney-related news and observed a lot of things, from Jaja's so-called love interest to Orland's circuit-related ability. Not to mention, he's 100% perky. Laughs a lot, even to the corniest of jokes. But only one person can shut him up, and that's Orland, our techie groupmate who knows a lot about java-programming-discrete-mathematics-computer-related stuff and according to Marci, a very ma-prinsipyo guy. He's perky also, so Mario found a competition. And they always had clashing opinions (sample conversation: orland: Guys, sorry walang aircon ngaun eh... Mario: Okay lang.... Mario: wow orland, lamig sa labas ah). Lastly, there's Marci, the cum-laude-standing-Engg person, the El-Fili genius of our group.Unlike Mario and Orland, he's not-so-perky, I mean he's perky, but not all the time.haha.
(in the picture: Jaja, the camera-shy and Mario, in one of our meetings in Econcaf)

Enjoyed PI 100 because of them.

I love Sagada!!!

I had my much-needed break. In the middle of the sem, when midterm exams are in full bloom and stress come in any and in many forms, I escaped QC and found myself in Sagada...haha. saya!

Loved the sites, and food at Yoghurt House and the waterfalls and the cave and the weather. Cold, without snow. Haha. I wanna go back there.

If you want to see more of our Sagada pics, see http://competitive.multiply.com/.

sleep at 1am, wake up at 6...zzzzzzzz...

I've been sleeping at around 1 am for two consecutive days. I got no choice. I need to perfect the art of cramming. I finished my feature article about Woody Co last sunday night. Last Monday night, I studied for my Cultural Geog first comprehensive exam (the term long exam is not apt).

***

Our thesis topic was not approved. Too bad. After the RRL, and statement of the problem and the specific and gen objectives, our topic was rejected. So we're back at square one. But it's all right. We had a new topic now, thanks to Prof. Arao.

***
The Special Projects Committee of Green Minds was called SPies (pronounced es-pis, although I call them spies.) So my committee needs a name as well. We call ourselves the MnMs (melt in your mouth, not in your hands.haha), the Multimedia Committee Projects Committee. Or pwede rin MnM Peanuts. haha. Yuck. Corny. pero cute pa rin.

***
Sagada field trip over the long weekend. Masaya to.

***

PI report two weeks from now. Go for uno!

***
UP is now 0-8. Cellar-dweller huh. Hope Martin Reyes and Woody Co were right. They said they'll win 4 games. So a 4-10 slate will be expected. Anyway, okay lang din kahit hindi. We're just bragging that we're 'matatapang, matatalino' not 'magagaling sa basketball' after all.

Of misaligned broadband and winless Maroons

I dunno if that's the correct term. Misaligned. Our Broadband connection is misaligned. You know those customer service reps? They keep on arguing with me that there is nothing wrong with our broadband connection. It's unusual though. We cannot have signals in the morning or at noon, but we can watch videos from Youtube or funnyordie at night. I asked why is that so. And they said that I need to turn my Firewall off. turn it off? what will happen? will viruses attack my laptop any moment?I didn't do what they told me. Sorry. I don't want to risk having too many virus swarming inside my laptop without me knowing it.

***

Finished HP7. Ganda. But JK Rowling got no choice but to do it that way. Too bad Fred Weasley and Tonks and Lupin and Dobby died.

And I felt sad because the series ended already. But there are still 2 movies coming up. Hope Harry will have a not-so-hideous haircut in the next movie.

***

Need to interview a sports personality for Journ196 class. Article due on Monday.
And I was assigned to interview Woody Co. Sana magpa-interview cya. I don't know his number and it's gonna be weird if I ask him if I can interview him if I see him in AS. plus, I don't know their practice time in HK gym. Got 6 days to figure that out.

***

the Fighting Maroons got a 0-7 slate after the first round. But hey, they're called Fighting Maroons, not winning Maroons anyway. And here's the silver lining: Next year, they'll be more experienced and those rookies will be rookies no more. Maybe we'll clinch the UAAP Men's title by then. Kaya yan nina Mike Gamboa, Martin Reyes, VJ Serios and Woody Co. Go Maroons!

***

(fingers crossed)

a senior's life (too many concerns, too little time.)

My most dreaded subject has come – J199. Thesis. It’s crucial. Really crucial. Plus the fact that it’s the most difficult among our J series. Initially, I wanted to do a thesis on the CRS. But given the fact that I don’t know so many CRS members and having no background in investigative journ, I can’t do it. Luckily, Sir Arao approved a new topic. Weisa and I will do a study on the coverage of Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippine Star and Manila Bulletin of the Batangas Gubernatorial Race. I need all the patience, strength, wisdom and luck I can muster.

Acads. I’ve got five other subjects aside from my thesis. And they’re not really easy. At grabe pa ang mga readings.

AdCore. I’m part of Team RnR and HR. So I badly need to be active there. It’s my last year in UP so I need to do something for the org. Mejo malayo pa naman ang BA building from MassComm.

Green Minds. Things happen in an instant. Then here I am, elected as the multimedia projs committee head. So many things to accomplish – Verdant, Verdant Online and all the publicity materials. Kaya yan.

GradComm FinExt. Grabe muntik ko na malimutan to ah.

Klub Tala. It’s my last year in UP and I want to be active here as well.

The question is how. The answer is time management. I hope I can do these all.

Can I borrow your powers Hiro? Eww. This is soooo Heroes again.

***

But despite all of these I still got a life anyway. We had this ‘tribo ni Chi’ photo shoot in our boarding house last Wednesday morning. Hahaha. Wala lang. I need some pictures for my PR assignment. So Angge and I had this shoot in our room. Dumating si Chi, brought all of her earrings, and by all I mean, ALL –from dangling earrings, pearl and really big hoop earrings (and some type of earrings you’ll be too ashamed to wear.haha). At cyempre sumama pa si April and Ate Cham. Parang naging photo studio ang room ko. As in. super kalat.complete with the wardrobe we choose from and the props. Sohoree.Ayoko talaga.

Then, last Thursday, Con, Kat and I watched Pan’s Labyrinth in the Film Center. Cool. Parang Chronicles of Narnia + Harry Potter 4 + Happy Tree Friends = Pan’s Labyrinth. Haha. Nakita ko pa si Patrick and he asked me if I was required to watch the film.

Patrick: Required ka ba?
Ako: Hindi.
Patrick: Bakit ka manonood? Wala lang?
Ako: Wala lang. Fun fun lang.
Patrick : Grabe, parang wala kang thesis ah !

Haha. This is senior’s life. Kaya ko to.

Ended up in EK.

Enchanted Kingdom last Sunday.
Saya.
rode the Wheel of Fate.
and
Rio Grande (haha. three times. got really soaked.)

*the easiest way to experience peace when in a scary ride is to close your eyes. trust me.*

Elections last Monday.
I didn't vote. I'm not a registered voter.
Some of my friends are telling me I should've exercised my right.
I don't want to.
It's a right. It's not a law.
It's not mandatory.
Besides, there will be cases like the "semi-unknown mechanism of the candidates" (aka. dayaan) at "unexpected generosity" (aka. vote buying in kind) and my vote will not be counted realistically speaking.

*I did not vote. I have my own reasons.

save an iPod nano, save the world

all right. I know, the title is sooooo Heroes.

Kuya lost his iPod nano last week. The question isn't why, that's too obvious, there are thieves out there. But the question is how? According to Kuya's story, he just bent to pick some coins dropped by the girl next to her in the jeepney. And in that 3 seconds or so, his iPod was gone. But the earphones and the rubber case was left. Given the difficulty of removing the iPod from the rubber case, I wonder how the thief did that? Maybe, he has the power to bend the space and time continuum, just like Masi Oka's Hiro Nakamura character in Heroes. okay...that's the weirdest thing I've said in this blog.

But enough of Heroes, specially now that I figured out why they say "save the cheerleader, save the world". hahaha

***

My PBA internship is cool. Now we need to do some special projects and organize volunteer programs. Wanna be a PBA volunteer? text nyo lang ako.

***

Summer in the boardinghouse is cool as well, not literally, of course. We always had ice cream and some impromptu video shoots, now entitled, "April, I know what you did last summer"...

***
I'm playing this funny game called Crazy Taxi now. Peeves installed that game in my PC last week, and really, it was Crazy Taxi.

***
Politics in Batangas is getting serious. Vilma Santos is running for governor. The incumbent Armand Sanchez, who happens to be an alumni of my high school, is also running. Then here comes the former police officer Nestor Senares. I dunno who's gonna win. But if Vilma wins, it would inspire more showbiz personalities to enter the political arena, which isn't really healthy for the country. I think it's gonna be between Sanchez and Vilma, Senares will be the last in the list. Sanchez wife is running for mayor in our town. Ralph Recto is of course in the Senatorial race and Ricky Recto wanted to be a Congressman. Hay. Batangas version political dynasty.

***

June is fast approaching. Ayoko pa mag-thesis. I wanna bend the space and time continuum now.

the spirits of the staircase

so many things happened in the past month.

1. Got interviewed for McCann internship. failed. But it's all right. No portfolio eh.

2.PBA girl. Yeah. Intern there. So cool.

3.Got interviewed by a prof because of a late requirement. Too bad. I could've done better. Got a fat dos. huhu.

4.Only a few of us in my boarding house. So cool.

5.Watch Heroes. save the cheerleader, save world.

6.Became a member of AdCore. haha. Great job!

I want a great summer. And it seems the universe is giving me exactly that.

so much for our sheltered lives (and other second sem one-liners)

Tapos na ang election sa Batangan and 5 out of 8 EC positions nakuha ng batchmates ko...buti na lang nanalo sila kahit na mukhang may sun burn sila sa mga campaign posters na ginawa ko...Pero it's not my fault, blame the printer...hahah

at ang mga one-liners:

for Pipay:Kay Pipay, makulay ang buhay...

for Bryan:EdRes? Go for Baes!

for Hazel:Hazel Joyce is the right choice!

for Emman:My man, your man, Emman!

for Kuya Arvie:katulong, kasangga, kaparty...Arvie!

for MAvic:kasabik-sabik...Mavic!

for Eden:EbotoEdenEVC
f
or Mark Melon:akala mo lang wala..pero Melon...Melon...Melon...

***

***

Lalabas na ang exemption list ng Math2 on Monday, which happens to be 1 hour before the final exam...

at after all these, Internship pa.

After internship, thesis, graduation, diploma, then hello world!

but for now...I need to face the polynomials ang overcome the RRL to pass my two remaining subjects...

As I always say:If you can't factor a polynomial, don't be sad...Math doesn't make the world go round...

What

Grabe, I left BNR a second after Ma’am left. Cyempre tumakbo papuntang AS, (kasalanan ko bang walang Toki)… Miting de Avance kasi kelangan magshoot for Sir Nartea’s photoessay…

At Lemony Snicket na naman ang drama ng buhay ko, pagdating ko doon, mejo tapos na, I run to the 2nd floor, took a top view shot, para may dating ( yeah, mejo architecture-oriented kasi ako, top view, hindi aerial shot…)
pero hello naman ang daming tao sa AS… so nakisiksik na lang ako…pagbaba ko ayon, kumakanta na ng UP Naming Mahal… at nakita na naman ako nung classmate ko sa Photojourn na ang tawag sa kin ay Nessa (got a new name ha, Nessa…)…tsk tsk…

Math 2 report ko na naman. Grabe 2nd report na namin to. Kasi naman Sir Abueg got mad at our class kasi may three girls na tumawa sa unahan in the middle of the discussion of factoring polynomials and that sort of stuff, kaya magrereport na lang ang buong class at hindi na magdidiscuss si Sir ever this sem. The thing is, bakit kasi kaming lahat dapat magsuffer nung nagalit cya sa 3 girls na un…

Paul: Kasi wala tayong magagawa, kasi Prof cya, estudyante lang tayo.

Yeah right.

Haha. Kelangan ko ata magfinals.

At last, tapos na un Drysdale ad presentation naming last week sa advertising. Cyempre competitive si Jerick, di nagpatalo. Well, I’m kinda expecting Ma’am Agulto’s reaction.

Sometimes, it’s better to be talked about than not to be talked about at all.

Yeah right ma’am.
Pero kasi controversial un ad namin, I mean, the song is This Guy’s in Love with you Pare, and our product is Drysdale, so mejo Off Strat daw kami. Pero I’m after being memorable kasi and attracting audience attention kaya ganun. Un tipong ayokong maging ‘just any other normal commercial’. Ayokong magsayang ng airtime. Ayon. We created an intriguing ad.

in behalf or on behalf?

This is Chi's sneaker.
a.k.a.
the first scene in my TV ad about values advertising...
with the tagline:
Marriage is like a sneaker's shoelace...
Blogger is in this Beta-mode lately, kaya tinatamad akong magblog. I forgot my Google password...but I'm blogging again...

Chi is here.hahaha. Looking for Screwtape Letters e-book, asa pa.

Okay, last week was bliss.

My birthday was last Tuesday, I celebrated at home.

Last Valentine's Day, we have a post-birthday celebration aka surprise party at my boardinghouse. Thanks Cy for the cake and the rest of the girls for the ice cream and the hanging letters. haha.

(Okay…the guy from Save the Last Dance 2 was right… Dreams change.
I always wanted to be an architect. Now, I wanted to be an advertiser. One heck of a good advertiser for that matter. I wanted to be the next Third Domingo…(okay, I’m gonna be… Fourth…Hernandez…sounds like Fort Bonifacio…whatever…haha)
Nagpunta kaming Letran para sa Adspeak last Friday, isang convention ng Values Advertising…gumawa ng ad a week before the convention…aka the source of our midterm grade…aka…nakasalalay sa grade namin sa competition ang certain percentage ng grades namin…aka…’we can’t just screw it up’…or else…
So there are almost 150 print entries, 60 radio ads, and 13 TV Public Service Announcements. I did one for TV. Got one out of a thirteen chance of winning, that is, considering only one will be declared as winner. But, they announced the last minute that there will be three winners, so 3 out of a thirteen chance, meaning 22%, assuming that my calculations are correct…(this is very Math2…)
So the radio winners are already announced, and they are great…especially the Sana Maulit Muli piracy ad…
And there’s only one team who for the print entries, the team that we really admire when we’re checking out the gallery…
To make the story short, Jessica won 2nd place for TV, and I got the first place. Ivy, Jerick, Weisa and Kiko knew it all along. Ivy is so convinced that I’m gonna win.

Jerick: Ano bang tama, in behalf or on behalf? In behalf or on behalf of my advertising class under Ma’am Agulto…I would like to thank…
Ako: Jeck, stop it…

Haha. Sometimes, it pays to listen to what Jerick is saying, as long as it’s not about songs…
(Nelly, dapat Just Like a Pill, or Everybody Hurts or White Flag ni Dido…huh..)

And I was so thankful of the one operating the DVD or the projector that time. Jessica was still upstage and thanking Adspeak. The person operating the DVD/projector thought that Jessica was already finished and the first scene of my ad (see the picture above) was shown for about 2 seconds, and Anelle saw it and said (or should I say shouted) Oh my god! Nelly, di ba ad mo yun?
Yeah.

When Jessica went down the stage, they played my ad, with that prominent Wouldn’t It Be Nice Beach Boys song in the background,…and all of us…I mean, all of us in the J151 class, and some of the J152 class members who knew, was smiling and shouting and cheering and when the host asked, anong school?

UP!!!

I remember Ma’am Agulto last month, when she was talking about Adspeak…

She said…

Class, __________ is joining, quote unquote, WE NEED TO WIN.

Ma’am we won.

OMG.
I need to produce a storyboard for Drysdale as our assignment.
And it better be good. Sort of the ‘Marriage is like a sneaker’s shoelace’ ad level.

*pressure.pressure*
